Power washing does two main things:
Caulking is actually quite important in the way we do that really separates us from a lot of our competitors in the area. We use a really thick polyurethane rubber. It's really important in Michigan weather with the extreme heat in the summer and the extreme cold in the winter because it's flexible - as materials expand and contract, it's going to hold that seam, and it's not going to crack open.
Power washing will take care of some of the flaking paint. Some flaking paint is just going to be a little too stubborn. So we use the razor scraper really to get in there and get the rest of the flaking paint off. It doesn't mean we're going to remove all the existing paint, but we're going to get any paint off that could cause adhesion problems.
Almost any home that we repaint that has wood trim or wood siding is going to need some, some amount of wood repair.
Other painting companies in the area don't provide those services, so they end up having to find a carpenter to come in and take care of that. But we do all that!
All of our crews are fully equipped to remove any rotted wood and totally replace it, whether it's soffit pieces, fascia trim boards, even whole sections of siding.
Priming is a high adhesion coating - like a thick paint that's going to go on any raw wood or any areas that may have adhesion problems.
We have a lot of steps for our painting projects because we know that prep is the most important part of the job. We don't cut corners to save time or money; we do it right the first time!
